A Hotel Receptionist in the UK plays a crucial role in the hospitality team, acting as the first point of contact for guests. Their duties are centered around ensuring guests have a smooth and pleasant experience from the moment they arrive until they depart. Key responsibilities include:
1. Guest Check-in - take guest details, provide information regarding hotel amenities & policies. Assign keys & room to guests.
2. Administrative Tasks & Financial Transactions - balance cash at the end of each shift, process payments & allocate charges to rooms. Manage emails, copying and incoming calls as well as keeping the reception tidy.
3. Bookings & Reservations - take phone and online reservations & handle any special requests. Ensure guest records are updated with accurate details and particular preferences using hotel management software.
4. Customer Service - being the firs point of contact requires a receptionists customer service standards to be high. Answer questions, address concerns and offer recommendations ensuring each guest as the best experience possible.
