We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join a busy finance team based in the Liskeard area.
This role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis of Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1400. All hours are office based.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting. This role involves providing accurate financial information, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting to support the decision-making processes of the board. Seeking a proactive, strategic thinker with great problem-solving abilities, who can work both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements to a strict timetable in the format required.
• Assist in the preparation of the Company's Annual Financial Accounts.
• Ensure the Company's fixed asset register is maintained.
• Actively engage with and support the Finance Director with the annual audit process.
• Prepare and maintain quarterly VAT returns.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, analysing variances against actual performance.
• Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to identify trends and provide insights for cost control and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures and assist in the development and implementation of internal controls.
• Provide guidance to the Finance Assistants working within the department.
• Build and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Work closely with various departments to provide financial insight and support operation initiatives.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
• AAT Level 4 qualified.
• Proven experience in management accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience of SAGE ERP is preferable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
