Seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join an established and growing business in the Truro area on a permanent part time basis of 22.5 hours per week,

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in Finance, have a good eye for detail and be able to work to deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

This role will principally be office based but with scope for some hybrid/flexible working following completion of probation.

This role will see the successful candidate playing a pivotal role in assisting with the day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Manager with all aspects of day-to-day accounting

  • Management of the accounts inbox during working hours

  • Take lead responsibility for the maintenance of the accounts payable function - transactional processing of invoices following policies and procedures, manage and control invoices held in query, preparation of BACS payments and supplier statement reconciliations

  • Preparation of the monthly payroll and related statutory payments

  • All aspects of Bank - transactional processing of payments and receipts and bank reconciliations for the numerous business entities

  • Help to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledgers

  • Post credit card transactions, reconcile the monthly statement and raise recharge invoices

  • Opportunities to identify and implement improvement across the finance department

 

Required Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

  • AAT part/fully qualified preferred but not essential

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Ideally a working knowledge of Sage Payroll

  • 2 years Previous experience in an accounts role

  • Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities

  • Ability to prioritise

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Sensitivity to the confidential nature of financial data

  • Own transport is essential due to location
