 We are excited to be working exclusively with an exciting and dynamic business in central Truro to support them in finding the right person in their new role of Office & Accounts Manager.

 

This is a lynch pin role for the business which will see the chosen candidate working alongside the senior management team to support the smooth running of the company and ensuring operational efficiencies.

 

They are seeking a friendly, professional and driven candidate with previous experience of managing a team, monitoring workflows and increasing efficiencies by creating process improvements. The chosen candidate will have bags of initiative to spot and solve issues and communicate changes within the team in a friendly and supportive manner. This is a self-supporting role that will better the business from all angles and a great opportunity for a driven candidate to make it their own and develop over time. This is an office-based position with a split of both Office Management and bookkeeping duties, so experience of having worked across both areas is essential.

 

Initial Key Duties:

  • Act as general office coordination

  • Monitoring of project resourcing and work projections.

  • Organising events, contracts for sub-consultants and keeping on top of potential projects through the use of tender portals etc.

  • Management of team admin, timesheets, workflows, project reports etc.

  • Basic Bookkeeping to include; Budgets, Cashflow, PAYE, VAT returns etc.

  • Chasing unpaid invoices, sending invoices etc.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

 

  • Solid experience of having worked within a similar role previously (essential)

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (essential)

  • Min level AAT 3 (essential)

  • Quickbooks (desirable)

  • Experience of tender submission/management (desirable)

  • Ability to learn or to develop systems and procedures. (essential)

  • Ability to take initiative. (essential)

  • Team Player (essential)

  • Experience of having worked within one or more of the construction/design/architectural/engineer industries (desirable)
